We are centrally positioned on the gorgeous Grand Anse Beach, hiding behind Seaside Almonds and Sea Grape trees. Our hotel offers the magic of a Caribbean beach holiday at a low cost. The Allamanda Beach Resort will offer you friendly and welcoming Grenada accommodation in a glorious tropical setting. We are family owned and run and go out of our way to maintain a more informal atmosphere and offer you a more personal service. Grenada is a fabulously exotic Caribbean Island. Walk out of your room and go through the tropical gardens, leave by the gate and the beach envelops you. The powder white sand surrounds you – ahead is the intensely blue beauty of the Caribbean Sea, crystal clear and enticing. To the right and across the bay is the lovely capital St George’s, alluring and promising a deep Caribbean adventure. Behind Grand Anse the landscape rises up to the mountainous interior, rich in rainforest, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. Spend a day on the beach swimming or snorkeling. Relax on a chair on the beach beneath the spreading old Almond tree and
watch the evening come on. The sunsets at the Allamanda are magical. You can choose to watch from the raised terrace by our freshwater swimming pool, or from the comfort of a chair on the beach. Either way as the evening deepens the sky around Grand Anse becomes intense with glorious colours.
You will find the Allamanda Beach Resort on the beach in the south of Grenada. This is the western leeward side of this lush and fertile Island, where the Caribbean Sea is calm and sheltered from the Atlantic waves. Our family-run hotel is set exactly half-way along the sumptuous soft white sand of the magnificent Grand Anse Beach, the treasure of Grenada. Powder-white sand, tropical reefs and the shimmering turquoise Caribbean Sea. If a holiday of tranquillity is what you want – then the Allamanda is perfect. The rest of Grenada surrounds you, however, if you desire a little more activity. Grenada is an exquisite setting for a tropical dream holiday. Whatever your interests there is something here to captivate you, whether you travel as a single, couple or a group:
A few short steps from the Allamanda and you have a chance to sample some of the wonderful and unequalled Grenadian cuisine. The fabulous history of Grenada has resulted in a diverse mix of population and a cuisine with a multitude of influences. Many dishes have an African basis, but this is mixed in with influences from the cooking of India, France, Britain, Portugal and China. Combine this with an agriculture that produces the best spices, herbs, vegetables, fruit and fish that the world has to offer. The result is food that is as delicious as it is unique.
Wandering around the hotel area you will find restaurants, snack shacks and stalls. Try the national dish of oildown, it is unique and delicious. The array of soups is amazing – I love cow heel soup and callaloo. Crab back is not to be missed. Rotis are on sale everywhere: Chicken, fish, or Lambi (conch) are all wonderful. At night time, over the road is an area where many stalls sell amazing barbecue chicken, rotis, soups and drinks – and all buzzing with the sound of Caribbean music.
Our Pretty Capital: St George’s
The Allamanda is also a short distance from the magical capital, St George’s, renowned as the Caribbean’s prettiest town. Coming into St George’s either by boat, or car, or a local bus, is always an experience to take your breath away! A natural amphitheatre of hillsides covered in pretty buildings which cascade down to the magical harbour. The Carenage is a horseshoe-shaped promenade that encircles the harbour and is a delight to walk around. The winding streets are a joy to explore.
Coastline and Sea
Grenada’s coastline is a tropical delight of warm water and natural wonders to explore by boat. Snorkel, dive or simply swim through a world of tropical fish, sunken wrecks, and coral reefs in unbelievably clear blue waters. Rugged shorelines of vaulting hills covered in tropical vegetation. Gorgeous Caribbean bays featuring some of the world’s loveliest beaches. Swim in the calming waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Behind Grand Anse is a backdrop of exquisite mountain depths – promising rainforest and waterfalls, spice plantations and magical lakes. Mountains tower upwards, covered in tropical rain-forest, and surrounded by tumbling, rushing rivers. Go hiking and trekking through lovely woodland of Bamboo, Mahogany and Silk Cotton Trees. Visit sensational waterfalls and try bird watching around beautiful volcanic crater lakes.
