Walk out onto your balcony and you are surrounded by a huge and lovely sky, beneath which is the gorgeous turquoise of the Caribbean Sea. Our Ocean View Rooms are a delight to your senses. The sunset and after sunset skies around Grand Anse are exquisite. You can feel the enchantment in the air as the sun sinks into the crystal sea. Relax on your balcony in the early morning and watch the beach slowly come to life. Terns and Boobies arrow into the water with hardly a splash, and then emerge with a fish in their beak. Frigate birds slowly circle overhead whilst the first people come for an early swim. Just by the Allamanda gate there is a lovely old Seaside Almond tree, a cool place to rest in the shade and just watch the life of the beach.

It doesn’t matter how many times I look at the Grand Anse Beach, I am always in awe of it, and the sea, and the sky. In an Ocean View Room you get this and more. A short walk and your feet are padding over the soft white sand, then you wade into the warm blue wonder that is the sea! There is a life in this beach, and you can spend your whole holiday discovering it.
Amble slowly north up the beach and you will come to the Vendor’s Market. Here you can get a drink or have a snack – or an excellent Grenadian recipe meal of fresh fish or chicken. You can buy some locally hand-made crafts or spices. Sit for a drink at Esther’s Bar and chat to the wonderfully friendly local people. Here you will discover the true heart of Grenada is in the warm and happy people who live here. A few hours spent here will be one of the happiest memories of your holiday.
A little further along the beach is the wooden jetty. Walk out on this and you can gaze into the water and be entranced by the glories of a myriad tropical fish. Shoals will jump out of the water around you, and Boobies and Terns will pounce on them from above! After a time here you may fancy a lunch at the beautiful Coconut Beach Restaurant. Try a lunchtime special here that is modestly priced. Each day features delicious local dishes, like Oil Down or Fish Broth. Imagine the pleasure of sitting at your tables – they are right in the sand!- and eating your lunch just feet from the sea. Gaze lazily up the beach and wonder at the beauty all around.
Arriving back at the Allamanda you could go for a swim in the hotel freshwater swimming pool, followed by a sunbathe on the terrace. As the evening draws near the sky is beckoning you. Sunsets around Grand Anse are a magnificent explosion of colours and light. Where would you like to watch it from this evening?:
On the Beach, surrounded by Seaside Almonds and Seagrapes, with boats gently swaying in the swell, and waves playing at your feet.
On the raised terrace by the swimming pool, at a table and chairs with children splashing in the water.
On your private balcony with a drink and a snack. Relaxing in your room you can survey the whole Grand Anse area from on-high.
From a boat on the Caribbean Sea, as you try out one of our sunset cruises.
Wherever it is, you must catch the moment on your camera. Without doubt the sunsets at the Allamada will be the highlight of your holiday! Whether you are staying as a couple, or singly, these rooms are perfect. Spend your time trying out the many wonderful restaurants, bars and food stalls all around Grenada. Here is the essence of the island – simply fabulous Caribbean food! After sunset the tropical world awakes, and the romance of the night begins.
